Are you having trouble using the Mr. Linky tool when you're trying to submit your piece of art to my Artist's PLAY ROOM Challenge? Well, you're not alone, many people have a little trouble using new tools. I decided to add a little explanation on how to use the Mister Linky tool successfully!

Just follow the instructions below:
  1. First, go to your blog and click on your actual Post title so it's the only post showing on your blog. Go to your address bar above and grab the specific URL... (it should look generally like the URL of this page)-----> http://www.justaddwatersilly.com/p/mr-linky-help.html
  2. Now you have that copied, go to the APR linky, put your name in the top box and paste the URL that you just copied into the second box.
  3. click NEXT.
  4. This will open up the Green Linky page. It says "choose your thumbnail!" and gives you these options:
  5. Please select one of the following actions:
Upload an image file from your computer.
Enter the URL of an image on your site.
Pick one of the images on your site.
     Use your Gravatar.
  6. First, try selecting "pick one of the images on your site". If this doesn't work, and you get a message about the linky not being able to open your blog URL then you want to upload the picture from your computer (using the first option,  Upload an image file from your computer in the Mr. Linky open page), just like you do when uploading a pic to Blogger.
  7. If the " Pick one of the images on your site works, it will open a new page with a bunch of your pictures from your blog, choose and click on the piece of art you want to display.
  8. Then click Enter, you're done!
  9. The thumnail picture won't show up in the Linky list until you refresh my blog page at least once. If you want to see your link thumbnail, just reload my blog and scroll down to the linky tool! (reload the page by clicking on my header)
I hope this little tutorial helps those of you who feel out of the loop. That's not a fun place to be. If you are STILL having trouble with the Mr. Linky, please leave a comment with your name and your blog and I will both add your link to Mr. Linky myself & leave a comment on your blog telling you I did. Don't worry, it's really no problem! Happy creating my bloggy friends, I look forward to seeing all your submissions to my Artist's PLAY ROOM!
