I've decided to start my own weekly Blog Hop Challenge for all the amazing artists out there that I'd love to discover. There are many, many blog hops out there in blogland but so few are geared toward artists.

Here's my first challenge. Are you an artist? Can you say it out loud, for all the world to hear? I've had trouble with claiming "artist" status in the past, but when I embraced all that it meant, I found it so freeing to be what I was from the inside out. I've been an artist since the moment I could pick up a pencil, I just didn't say it out loud. I want to encourage you to SAY IT OUT LOUD by joining me in my "Artist's Play Room" every Saturday. You don't have to be great, just create! My definition of an artist is:

"An artist is one who creates with JOY."

Here's the dictionary definition of "Artist":

1. art·ist/ˈärtist/

   Noun:

   A person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby. A person who practices any of the various creative arts, such as a sculptor, novelist, poet, or filmmaker. A person whose creative work shows sensitivity and imagination. One, such as a painter, sculptor or writer, who is able, by virtue of imagination and talent, to create works of aesthetic value, especially in the fine arts.
