Artist's Play Room #31

I can't believe we're at #31 in APR, that Fall has rolled around and we're  entertaining pumpkins and thinking about Christmas cookies. Quite amazing. Last week's theme was "Masquerade" and I asked you to do anything to do with party themes and or masks etc, anything "Masquerad-y". We got a bunch of wonderful submissions, but before I show you those I want to announce the WINNER of the Masquerade Giveaway!! Drumroll please...

The winner is:

I will be sending Hwee her mystery gift bag as soon as she sends me her mailing address. Congratulations! Ok, now on to the beautiful art from this week!

Arnoldo missed last week's
APR so I suggested he just
enter his submission this
week. Here's his very cool
acorns, I love them!
Terri is supporting breast
cancer and entering this
lovely pink farie named
Posey. Pretty.
Linda has painted a very
mischievous little girl
in a mask, I wonder what
she's planning!!
Currie has rendered an
amazingly colorful jester
I love the happy feeling I
get when looking at him.
Victoria, once again, has
produced a superlative
photograph of mystery.
This topic was made for her!
Darla has perfectly captured
this pose, the Pierrot is such
a classic image and perfect
for the theme, great job.
Tracey has done a drawing
of her tissue box, she says
melon on her shoulders is
masquerading as her head!
Simona has done a she-devil
for this week's APR. She
looks wonderfully
theatrical and ready to party!
Stephanie has done a collage
of mysterious buildings that
will hold our masquerade
ball, a creative idea!
Sharon has done an inspired
piece with many layers, I'm loving
the color and depth she captured.
I went trolling the internet
for some cool masks,such
an amazing assortment, it
makes me want to actually
throw a masked ball!!
Neesie has penned an
extraordinary mask, her
work always amazes me.
Best tangles on the planet!!
Vonny did a beautiful
turquoise mask, I think she's
the only one to add eyes to
her mask, I'm wondering
who's looking out at me!
Hwee, our Masquerade
Giveaway winner, did a
gorgeous beaked mask.
I love the embellishments.
Gloria has entered a
stunning zentangle piece
that looks so delicate.
I really love it!
Terri, combining two
challenges, put her mask
on a pumpkin!! So adorable
and creative an idea.

This week's theme is "Celestial/Stargazing". I thought we could celebrate the beautiful sky. When we moved into our apartment I was pleasantly surprised to find that the previous tenant had added glow in the dark stars in little and big dipper style all over the ceiling. It's surprising how comforting they are to look up to for the few minutes until I fall asleep. I know this may stretch some of you to get creative but I added a couple extra ideas below. Really, you can also let the theme really make you think outside of the box. Have fun!

  6. This is for Twinkle Toes - I just left a lovely LONG commetn on your flicker photo with the lovely gold stitching - but had a technical hassle, and it won't let me post! So just to say - I enjoyed your gold stitching, and thought you rather had the advantage over the rest of us, given your screen name Is TwinkleToes! lol!!
    Cheers,
    Linda

  8. Thank you, Jenn for another great idea. I am always almost late to the party! I am also working on another galaxy painting in oil about 24 x 18, so I will post when I finish, but not in time for this week! Have a good week.
