Words have always meant a lot to me. There are a few very special books that I've read over the years that have changed me. Heinlein's "Time Enough For Love" and "Friday", Richard Bach's "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and Zenna Henderson's "The Anything Box" and "Holding Wonder". In Holding Wonder one of the short stories is called The Believing Child. I loved that phrase, I was a believing child, I believed in the Universal good. I still use that as my most basic foundation. I thought I'd look up some of my favorite quotes about belief for you to enjoy...
"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in being strong when everything seems wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
To believe in something,
and not to live it,
When someone shows you who they are,
believe them the first time.
When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.
Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right.
