Artist's Play Room #22

I really enjoyed watching all the turquoise & lime art come in this week. It made me so happy to see all the brightness. It's kind of nice to see all the myriad ideas that come up using turquoise & lime. Bonnie mentioned on her blog some interesting info about the two colors. She said, "If you have ever studied the charkas of the body, you would know that green is for the heart center which is for LOVE , and Turquoise if for the throat center, which is for TRUTH." Well, that's cool, huh? I'll have to research what fuchsia represents.

I do love turquoise & lime so much that I have several nail polish's in just these colors. Ok, I have like 5 limes and 6 turquoise (and several glitters too). Eek, I'm addicted, I know! I just ordered several new colors too (ok, I ordered like 10, so sue me!) Sorry, I got distracted thinking about nail polish and color!! On to all the very colorful and cool art...

I had a lot of fun doing this painting, finally
getting back to my Holbein watercolors. I'm
really surprised how much I've learned in the
few months of stepping away from them.
Sunny has done a collage using
he requisite colors. I love how
it looks like christmas lights.

Bonnie has used twinks to
create this great background,
which I think can stand on
it's own as an abstract, stunning.
Barb has made a beautiful
butterfly thank you card.
I'm in love with the combo
of butterfly and mail stamps.
Sandee has done a scrapbook
page about the beach using
the T&L colors. I really
love the sand dollar and the foam!
Darla has done a lovely kind
of zendala that's somewhat
asymmetrical but really
Currie has done a
terrific collage just
letting her imagination
take her on a T&L trip!
Terrie combined zentangles
and T&L, I really love the
effect she achieved, I could
stare at it for hours.
Vonny has done a really
wonderful lady turned
to the right, I love that
she's impressionistic.
Neesie has done the cutest frog
EVER. I'm officially claiming
him as my new boyfriend.
Now, pucker up buddy!
Minn has painted a lovely
diptych of a simple tree. I
love the opposite colors, so
totally creative Minn.
Debbie has made a lovely
piece of jewelry, I'm loving
the swirly goodness of the
T&L, beautiful Debbie!
Gloria has done a terrific
graphic still life of colored
square cups, I absolutely
love the richness of this piece.
Twinkletoes has done an
adorable card, limes with
turquoise birds, I think it's
so cute, especially the LIMES!
Victoria has painted using
a background in T&L and
a twin-sister theme. Always
a lovely job.
Teri had set up a great
still-life of key lime pie
and limes in a wonderful
wooden bowl. Great photo!
Arnodo has combined a
biblical quote, zentangles
and my T&L to make an
adorable piece of journal art.
Laura has joined us
in APR for the first
time this week, what
a beautiful first piece!
Jessica has submitted a
lovely painting of a lotus
flower, it's quite beautiful,
thanks for sharing.

Make me laugh! That's the theme for this week. Now, you don't actually have to draw or paint something funny, you could illustrate a funny situation that happened to you. That's what I'm doing, I'm doing cutlery as my painting to illustrate a funny story from my life. If on the other hand, you have a fantastic sense of humor and can come up with something funny on paper, have at it, I can't wait to read your stories and see your art, I think this challenge is going to be really fun. We'll also be able to get to know one another better too.

We all know that a laugh (and an apple) a day keeps the doctor away so go forth and be funny, write funny or paint funny. Go ahead, make me laugh, I dare ya!! Here are some funny things to inspire and, well, make you laugh too. ;o)

I wanted to mention that a new issue (#2) of FEATURING magazine will be coming out soon. If you'd like to read more about this fantastic new art magazine please click here. The magazine is wonderfully new and different and a terrific read, go buy a copy! (there's even a giveaway going on.)
